Glossa

Privacy Policy

Last updated · 30 September 2026

Deze pagina is voorlopig alleen in het Engels beschikbaar.

In plain language: Glossa has no accounts and no server of ours. Your progress stays on your phone and in your platform's own backup. We use Google's tools for ads and for anonymous usage statistics; where the law requires it we ask your consent first, and you can play everything either way. We never sell your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how Zorzen Studios ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the mobile game Glossa: Word Puzzle (the "App") and the website at playglossa.app (the "Site"). Read it together with our Terms of Use.

1. Who we are

The data controller is Zorzen Studios. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, write to privacy@playglossa.app.

2. Our approach

Glossa is local-first. We run no accounts, no logins and no backend that stores your personal data. Your level progress, Stamps, streak, settings and hint balance are stored on your device and, when you allow it, in your platform's own backup: iCloud key-value storage on iPhone, Google's automatic app backup on Android. Those backups are governed by Apple's and Google's privacy terms, not ours, and we cannot read them.

3. Information processed, and why

3.1 Advertising

The free version of the App shows ads served by Google AdMob: an interstitial between levels at most once every three completed levels, and rewarded ads you choose to watch. To serve them, Google may process a mobile advertising identifier, coarse device and app information and ad-interaction data. Where required, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form is shown before any personalised advertising, and you can change your choice later under Settings › Privacy options. On iPhone the App also shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, ads are not personalised. Ads are filtered to a general-audience content rating. Google's own notice is at policies.google.com. The Welcome Pack, Lifetime and Plus tiers show no ads at all, and the App then does not start the advertising software.

3.2 Usage statistics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played: which language is chosen, which levels are completed, how often hints are used, and which letter combinations the dictionary rejected (so we can fix word lists). These events carry no name, email or account, and no persistent identifier we can link to you. Rejected letter combinations are the letters on the wheel you swiped, never free text.

3.3 Purchases

Purchases are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. To recognise what you own across reinstalls we use RevenueCat, which processes your store transaction identifiers and an anonymous app-user id. Your entitlement (Welcome Pack, hint packs, Lifetime, Plus) is restored from the store, not from us.

3.4 Sharing a Daily Emoji result

The share card contains the day's emoji, the letter count, your tries and your streak, never the answer. It is handed to the app you pick through your phone's share sheet; we do not receive it.

3.5 The Site

The Site is static. It uses Google Analytics only after you accept the banner; declining loads nothing, and "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals count as a decline. No advertising runs on the Site.

4. Legal bases (EEA and UK)

  • Consent: personalised advertising and Site analytics (withdraw any time in Settings or the banner).
  • Legitimate interest: non-personalised ads, crash and usage statistics, fraud prevention.
  • Contract: recognising and restoring your purchases.

5. Retention

Progress stays on your device until you delete the App or its data. Analytics events are retained by Google for at most 14 months. Purchase records are kept by the store and RevenueCat for as long as your entitlement is active and as required by law.

6. Children

Glossa is a general-audience word game rated Everyone / 4+. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Ads are limited to a general-audience content rating everywhere.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export data about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we hold no account data, most of these rights are exercised on your device: deleting the App removes your progress; Settings › Privacy options and your phone's advertising settings control ad personalisation. For anything else, email privacy@playglossa.app. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. International transfers

Google, Apple and RevenueCat may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

9. Changes

When this policy changes we update the date above and, for material changes, tell you inside the App.
