The Daily Emoji is Glossa's once-a-day word puzzle: two or three emoji point to one word of four to ten letters, and you spell it from a shuffled set of its letters. Everyone playing in the same language gets the same clue that day, tries are unlimited, and the share card shows how you did without revealing the answer. It is free for everyone and keeps your streak going.
How does the Daily Emoji work?
Open Glossa and tap the Daily. You will see:
- The clue: two or three emoji on a paper card.
- The answer row: one empty slot for every letter, so you know the length straight away. If the answer has a hyphen, the row shows a gap.
- The letters: exactly the letters of the answer, shuffled. No extra letters to trip you up.
Tap the letters into the slots in order. Made a slip? Use the backspace key. When the row is full, Glossa checks it. A wrong answer shakes and clears so you can try again. There is no limit on tries and no timer.
Solving the Daily earns 10 Stamps (20 with Glossa Plus) and counts as a played day for your streak.
Is the clue really the same for everyone?
Yes. On any given day, everyone playing in your language sees the same emoji and solves for the same word. That is what makes comparing results fun.
The emoji are shared across all five languages too, but the answer is each language's own word. Each concept is written so that the answer is a clean, common word in English, Spanish, Dutch, German and French, and every language's answer is reviewed by a native speaker before it is released. Puzzles never repeat.
How do you read an emoji clue?
Emoji clues reward a little lateral thinking. Here are some made-up examples (not real Glossa puzzles) to show the kinds of links you will meet:
- 🍞🔥 → TOAST: an object plus what happens to it.
- ⛄🥕 → SNOWMAN: a thing plus a detail that confirms it.
- 🪁💨 → KITE: an object plus the condition it needs.
- 🚂🛤️ → TRAIN: two halves of the same idea.
A few habits help:
Say each emoji out loud
Name every emoji in plain words, then think of what they have in common. Often the first emoji sets the scene and the second narrows it down.
Think of a common word
The answer is an everyday word, usually a noun, that exists cleanly in all five languages. If you land on something obscure or very specific, step back.
Use the letter count
The row tells you exactly how many letters you need. If your idea has the wrong length, it is the wrong idea, or the right idea in a different form.
Use the letters themselves
Because you get exactly the answer's letters, the puzzle is also an anagram. Spot an unusual letter, a likely ending or a double letter, and let it steer your guess.
How do hints work in the Daily?
Tap Hint and Glossa places the next correct letter for you. Daily hints come from your normal hint balance: free daily hints first (3 a day on the free version, 10 with Lifetime, unlimited with Plus), then any hint packs you have bought. Your share card shows how many hints you used, so it stays honest.
The Skip key from the Journey does not exist in the Daily. Since tries are unlimited, you can always keep going.
How do you share without spoiling it?
When you solve the Daily, you can share a result card. It shows:
- the emoji clue
- the number of letters
- how many tries you needed
- how many hints you used
- your current streak
It never shows the answer, so you can post it in a group chat without ruining anyone's morning.
How do Daily streaks work?
Every day you solve the Daily or clear any level, your streak grows by one. You earn bonus Stamps at three milestones: 50 at 7 days, 200 at 30 days and 500 at 100 days.
If you miss a day, the streak normally resets. Glossa Lifetime and Glossa Plus include streak insurance, which covers one missed day a month.
Streak reminders are deliberately gentle. Glossa only sends one when your streak is three days or more, at most twice a week, never two days in a row, never between 21:00 and 09:00, and it stops after three reminders you ignore. You can also turn on a notification that sends the day's clue, once a day.
What does "No post" mean?
Now and then your language may have no Daily on a particular day. In the archive, that day shows a "No post" stamp. A day without a puzzle in your language does not break your streak; playing any level that day keeps it going anyway. If another language has a puzzle that day, Glossa may offer to let you play it there instead.
What is the Daily Archive?
The Daily Archive lets you replay past Dailies, like stamps kept in an album. It holds every day since launch on 1 October 2026, and it appears once there is about a month of past puzzles to play.
- It is included in Glossa Plus, or you can unlock it once for €1.99 (EUR base price; your store shows the local price).
- Archive days are for fun: they do not count towards your streak and do not earn the daily Stamps.
- Days marked "No post" stay empty.
See the pricing section for how Plus and the other options compare.
Is the Daily Emoji free?
Yes. The Daily Emoji is free for everyone, every day, in all five languages, and it works offline because the puzzles are stored on your phone. Only the archive of past days is a paid extra. For the rest of the game, read how to play Glossa, or browse the FAQ.
In short
- Each day, two or three emoji point to one word of 4–10 letters; everyone in your language gets the same clue.
- You spell it from exactly the answer's letters, with unlimited tries and no timer.
- Hints place the next correct letter and come from your normal hint balance.
- The share card shows emoji, letter count, tries, hints and streak, never the answer.
- "No post" days never break your streak; the Daily Archive replays past days but doesn't count for streaks or Stamps.
